Ugandan music icon Jose Chameleone has openly reflected on the breakdown of his marriage, saying he has accepted that relationships, like all life journeys, naturally reach their conclusion at some point.Speaking during a television appearance, the celebrated Leone Island frontman confirmed that he and his estranged partner Daniella Atim have already filed for divorce and are now in the final stages of legally ending their marriage.
He looked back on their time together with gratitude, acknowledging the years they shared and the family they built, including their five children, whom he described as the most important bond between them. The artist noted that life with a public figure is often misunderstood, explaining that the pressures of fame, constant attention, and career demands can place strain on even the strongest relationships.
He further explained that throughout their disagreements, he chose not to publicly discuss private matters, saying he preferred to remain silent in order to shield his children from emotional distress and public scrutiny.According to him, that silence was also a way of maintaining dignity during difficult moments, ensuring that heated emotions did not lead to statements he might later regret or that could affect his family’s future.
Chameleone also addressed recent comments made by his son, Abba Marcus, saying he does not feel anger toward him and believes that with maturity, his son will gain a broader understanding of the situation. He concluded by emphasizing that although their separation has attracted public interest for years, both he and Daniella have tried to handle the process with respect, focusing on co-parenting and moving forward with their lives separately.
