Residents of Entebbe and surrounding areas are set to experience improved water supply as the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) moves closer to completing major restoration works at the Entebbe Water Works. The utility has confirmed that full production capacity is expected to resume after the successful progress of critical maintenance activities at the water intake facility.NWSC said its technical teams have been working continuously to bring the plant back to normal operations after maintenance works temporarily affected water production levels.

The reduced output had caused supply interruptions and low pressure in some parts of Entebbe and nearby communities. The corporation revealed that several important stages of the restoration process have already been completed, including the preparation and transportation of essential pipeline materials and other equipment required for the final phase of the project. These developments have accelerated efforts to return the facility to full functionality.

According to NWSC, newly acquired high-capacity pumps have been delivered and positioned at the intake area, with installation and commissioning preparations already underway. The utility added that electrical control systems supporting the new equipment are also nearing completion. The water supplier explained that once the new pumps are installed and tested, production levels will gradually increase, allowing the distribution network to regain stability.

Some customers may begin noticing improved pressure and more reliable water availability as the system adjusts.NWSC noted that it has continued operating the facility at limited capacity during the maintenance period to ensure essential water services remain available while the final technical works are being completed. The corporation said every effort has been made to minimize the impact on customers. The utility apologized for the temporary inconvenience caused by the reduced water supply and thanked residents, businesses and other stakeholders for their patience and cooperation during the restoration exercise.

NWSC emphasized that the maintenance was necessary to strengthen reliability and improve long-term service delivery. With the final installation and testing activities progressing well, NWSC expressed confidence that Entebbe Water Works will soon return to full operation. The corporation said it remains committed to providing dependable water services through improved infrastructure, quick response systems and continued investment in modern technology.
