Media personality and socialite Sheilah Gashumba has responded fiercely to remarks made by Evelyn Mic about her relationship with businessman Alex Bidandi, accusing her of making frequent attacks against public figures without understanding the realities they face.Speaking during an interview on Kasuku Live, Sheilah questioned Evelyn’s repeated commentary about celebrities, pointing to her previous remarks about personalities like Zari Hassan.
She suggested that people who have not experienced the demands of building a brand and business may not fully understand the decisions that come with fame and success.Sheilah explained that for a woman who has built a strong career and invested in businesses, marriage is not a decision that can be made casually. She said successful women have several factors to consider, including how a relationship may affect their professional commitments, public image and investments.“Do you think there are people who have never wanted to have kids with me or wanted to marry me?” Sheilah asked, arguing that her situation is different because she has worked hard to become an independent woman with responsibilities beyond her personal life.
The businesswoman then directed a pointed message at Evelyn, challenging her experience in entrepreneurship. While responding to Evelyn’s comments, Sheilah said, “You have never even managed a small kiosk,” implying that running a business requires practical experience and understanding.Sheilah also opened up about how marriage could influence her nightclub business, explaining that her personal brand is part of what attracts some customers. She noted that some people visit the club because they want to see her and interact with her presence, which she believes contributes to the business’ success.
She added that if she eventually got married, she would have to rethink her level of involvement in the club, possibly moving into a management role instead of being involved in daily activities. She also suggested that her future partner could support her by helping establish another entertainment venture.Despite receiving attention from male customers at her events, Sheilah insisted that she has maintained boundaries and has never dated any of the men who visit her club. She maintained that her focus remains on protecting the career, businesses and achievements she has built over the years.
