PLU supporter David Kabanda has spoken highly of musician King Saha, saying he continues to admire the singer’s music despite their different political positions.Kabanda explained that disagreements over politics have never affected his appreciation for Saha’s talent, adding that he judges music based on quality rather than the artist’s political beliefs.During an interview with a local television station, Kabanda revealed that King Saha remains among his favourite musicians and singled out the song “Akamwanyi” as one of the tracks he enjoys most.“King Saha is my favourite musician.
I don’t take things personally. I like his music, especially Akamwanyi,” Kabanda said. The statement comes amid King Saha’s strong criticism of the ruling government and his links with opposition supporters, particularly the National Unity Platform (NUP).Despite these differences, Kabanda said he respects Saha’s creativity and believes music should bring people together rather than divide them along political lines.
Kabanda also used the opportunity to encourage King Saha to appreciate Uganda’s coffee industry, saying the sector has continued to grow and provides important opportunities for farmers. He urged public figures to support industries that contribute to the country’s economy, noting that promoting coffee can help highlight Uganda’s potential.Kabanda’s comments have attracted attention because of the contrast between his political views and his admiration for an artist known for opposing the government.
