The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has taken its awareness campaign on the Non-Individual Register (NIR) to Soroti, engaging the public, businesses and organisations on the importance of having accurate and reliable information about non-individual entities. The campaign started with an appearance on Etop Radio in Soroti, where the URSB team used the airwaves to explain the Non-Individual Register and why it is important. The radio engagement was aimed at reaching a wider audience and helping people understand how the register can contribute to greater transparency and accountability.

According to URSB, the NIR is an important tool for strengthening the availability of reliable information about non-individual entities. Such entities include businesses, organisations and other registered bodies that operate and carry out different activities.URSB explained that having accurate information about these entities is important for promoting transparency and accountability.

Reliable registration information can also help different stakeholders make informed decisions when dealing with businesses and organisations. The awareness campaign has now moved beyond the radio to direct engagement with key stakeholders. Today, the URSB team is meeting stakeholders at Soroti Hotel to discuss the NIR in greater detail and explain its role in the registration and management of information on non-individual entities.

The meeting is expected to give businesses, organisations and other stakeholders an opportunity to understand what the NIR means for them and why they should pay attention to the information held on the register.URSB’s continued engagement with stakeholders is part of efforts to ensure that the public understands the importance of proper registration and access to reliable information. Through such engagements, the Bureau is seeking to make the NIR better understood and encourage stakeholders to appreciate its role in supporting a more transparent business and organisational environment. The Soroti engagement therefore provides another opportunity for URSB to take its message directly to the people, while also listening to the concerns and questions of businesses and other stakeholders about the Non-Individual Register.
