The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) is set to hold an online auction for a range of used assets, including motor vehicle spare parts, scrap and furniture, giving members of the public an opportunity to bid for the items. The auction, listed under Disposal Reference Number URA/CSD/DISP/26-27/00001, is scheduled for September 21, 2026. Interested bidders will be required to participate through URA’s electronic auctioning platform.
Before placing their bids, prospective buyers have been given an opportunity to physically inspect the assets at URA Nakawa Headquarters. The inspection exercise runs until September 18, 2026, from 8:00am to 5:00pm on working days, excluding weekends and public holidays.URA has advised interested bidders to access the auction platform through its official website, where they can find the application and user guides explaining how to view the items, place bids and complete payments. Bidders must use their Tax Identification Number (TIN) and password to access the system. The authority has emphasized that the assets will be sold on an “As Is, Where Is” basis. Bidders are therefore expected to inspect the items and make their decisions based on their condition before submitting offers.
Those who emerge as successful bidders will receive notifications through their registered TIN email addresses and SMS. They will then be required to generate a Payment Registration Number (PRN) through their TIN accounts and complete payment within 24 hours of the auction.URA says failure to make payment within the stipulated 24 hours will lead to the asset being automatically offered to the second-highest bidder.
Once payment by the successful bidder has been acknowledged, URA will generate a handover certificate and send it to the bidder by email. To collect the purchased assets, successful bidders will be required to present the signed handover certificate, payment slip and an acceptable form of identification, such as an original National ID, driving permit or passport. The collection process will be handled by the Procurement and Disposal Division at URA Headquarters in Nakawa Industrial Area, Kampala, after which URA will have no further liability for the assets.
