Kira Municipality MP Hon. George Musisi has commended the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) for taking business registration services directly to communities through its ongoing outreach programmes.Musisi made the remarks on Friday after visiting the URSB Business Clinic at Quick Pick Supermarket in Namugongo, where residents and business owners were receiving guidance on registration and other services provided by the bureau.
The MP said taking URSB services closer to the people was important because it gives residents an opportunity to interact with officials directly and receive clear information about procedures they may not fully understand. He noted that public engagement can also help correct misconceptions surrounding URSB services, particularly among people who may view registration processes as complicated or difficult to access.Musisi praised URSB for simplifying the registration process and moving many of its services online, saying digital access has made it more convenient for business owners to obtain services without unnecessary movement.
He urged entrepreneurs and residents across Kira Municipality to embrace the available services and use the Namugongo business clinic as an opportunity to seek guidance and complete their registrations. The legislator also encouraged existing and aspiring business owners to formalise their enterprises, noting that understanding and accessing government registration services can help them operate within the established legal framework. The visit underscored the importance of government agencies engaging directly with communities, as URSB continues its efforts to make business registration information and services more accessible to entrepreneurs across the country.
