URA Takes Tax Services to Hoima, Bringing Answers Closer to the People

Share This:

The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has taken its mobile tax outreach to Hoima, bringing tax services, information and guidance closer to residents and businesses in the area.
The outreach is giving Hoima residents an opportunity to get answers to their tax questions without having to travel far to seek assistance. URA officials are on the ground to guide taxpayers on various issues, including how to register for a Tax Identification Number (TIN) and how to generate a Payment Registration Number (PRN).
The teams are also helping taxpayers understand their tax obligations for the current financial year. This is intended to make it easier for individuals and businesses to know what is required of them and take the necessary steps to remain compliant.
URA’s mobile outreach is not only about providing information from one location. The authority has also deployed teams to move from door to door, engaging directly with members of the public and businesses in Hoima.
Through these engagements, taxpayers can raise questions about their specific situations and receive guidance from URA officials. The approach is also helping the authority reach people who may not normally visit URA offices or attend formal tax sensitisation meetings.
For many taxpayers, understanding tax requirements can sometimes be challenging, particularly when they are unfamiliar with processes such as TIN registration, PRN generation and filing or payment obligations. The outreach is therefore designed to simplify these processes by bringing the information closer to the people.
URA’s presence in Hoima is part of the authority’s continued efforts to improve tax awareness and encourage voluntary compliance. By engaging taxpayers directly, the authority is seeking to ensure that people have the right information before making decisions concerning their tax responsibilities.
The message from the outreach is clear: taxpayers do not have to remain in the dark about their obligations. With URA teams now in Hoima, residents have an opportunity to ask questions, get guidance and better understand their role in Uganda’s tax system.
