The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has taken a bold step to bring tax education and services closer to the people of Patongo Town in Agago District. In a lively and welcoming environment at the center of the town, residents are gathering around the Tujenge Mobile Bus, which has become a hub of learning and support.
This initiative is part of URA’s effort to make tax services more accessible, especially to communities that may not easily reach URA offices.Throughout the day, URA staff are offering hands-on assistance to individuals and business owners. People are being guided step by step on how to register for their Tax Identification Number (TIN), generate Payment Registration Numbers (PRNs), and file their tax returns correctly. Many participants are taking advantage of this opportunity to ask questions, clear doubts, and gain confidence in handling their tax responsibilities.
The presence of the Tujenge Mobile Bus has created excitement in the town. It is not just about services—it is also about learning. URA officers are explaining the importance of paying taxes and how it contributes to national development, such as building roads, schools, and hospitals. By using simple language and real-life examples, they are helping people understand that taxes are not just an obligation, but a shared responsibility for a better future. For many residents of Patongo, this outreach is a game-changer. Instead of traveling long distances for help, services are now brought directly to them. This approach saves time, reduces costs, and encourages more people to become compliant taxpayers.
The friendly and supportive atmosphere also makes it easier for first-time taxpayers to step forward without fear.URA’s visit to Patongo Town shows its commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.
By meeting people where they are, URA is building trust and strengthening relationships with citizens. As the Tujenge Mobile Bus continues its journey across the country, more communities can look forward to benefiting from these valuable services and knowledge.
