Shock and Grief as Rising TikTok Star Dianah Skys Found Dead in Kyanja

Kampala has been rocked by the tragic death of 24-year-old social media sensation and entrepreneur Dianah Skys, born Diana Namulinde.

The young star, celebrated for her TikTok content and online business in jewellery, bags, shoes, and perfumes, was discovered dead in her Kyanja apartment, leaving fans, friends, and the business community in deep shock.

Police sources reveal that the investigation took a dramatic turn when a security guard working for Gibeon Security Systems was arrested on Monday morning while allegedly attempting to flee with items linked to the deceased.

He was intercepted along the Northern Bypass in Kisasi by his supervisor, carrying two large suitcases and a laptop bag, and failed to give a satisfactory explanation for their possession.

The suspect was taken to Kensington Police Post, where he was charged with possession of suspected stolen property. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to taking the belongings from an apartment near his duty post.

Items recovered included mobile phones—among them a silver iPhone 17 Pro Max—bags, sunglasses, a wristwatch, and two black backpacks.

Further investigations confirmed that all the recovered property belonged to Diana Namulinde. Known online as Dianah Skys, she had built a thriving business and a loyal following, and her sudden death has raised concerns about the safety of young influencers and entrepreneurs in Kampala.

The heartbreaking incident unfolded further on Tuesday afternoon when her boyfriend, Bernard Lukwago, 32, reported that she had gone missing. After failing to reach her by phone, text, or WhatsApp, Lukwago visited her residence in Kyanja, where he noticed unusual locking and signs that suggested a break-in.

The apartment caretaker informed him that a suspect had been arrested with property believed to belong to Namulinde and advised him not to interfere. Lukwago returned to the police station for assistance, and officers accompanied him back to the apartment. Using a stick, police retrieved keys placed near a padlocked door and entered the premises.

Inside, authorities found Namulinde’s body lying upside down on the bed, with blood and saliva around her mouth and nose. The scene indicated a violent struggle, though police have not yet confirmed the exact cause of death. Investigators are working to determine whether the arrested security guard was directly involved in her murder.

As the investigation continues, Kampala residents and the online community mourn the loss of a vibrant young woman whose life and promising career were cut tragically short. Friends and followers continue to express grief and call for justice, while authorities pursue leads in the hope of uncovering the full story behind Dianah Skys’ death.
