Kampala has been shaken by the shocking death of a 24-year-old businesswoman and social media content creator, Namulinde Diana, whose lifeless body was found in her Kyanja apartment.
Authorities are treating the case as both a murder and an aggravated robbery, with police investigations pointing to strangulation as the cause of death.
The tragedy unfolded on the night of 3rd February 2026 in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja Ward, Kawempe Division. Diana, who lived alone, was discovered the following day by friends who had grown concerned after failing to reach her.
Their alarm grew when they found her apartment door left ajar, ultimately leading to the grim discovery.
Police from Kira Road quickly launched an investigation, moving swiftly to secure the crime scene and gather evidence. On the same day, a security guard stationed at the building was arrested after authorities recovered items suspected to have been stolen, some of which were later confirmed to belong to the deceased.
Homicide detectives and Scene of Crime Officers worked meticulously to document the scene. Various exhibits were collected, and witness statements were recorded in an effort to reconstruct the events leading to Diana’s death. Authorities emphasized that the investigation is being handled with the utmost seriousness.
