Bulambuli County Member of Parliament, Hon. Biara Emmanuel Wepukhulu, has joined millions of Ugandans in mourning the death of veteran statesman and retired military officer Rt. Hon. Gen. Moses Ali, who passed away on Saturday at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala at the age of 87.Gen. Moses Ali was one of Uganda’s most respected political and military figures, having dedicated more than five decades of his life to public service.
Born on April 5, 1939, in Adjumani District, he served the country in various capacities, including as First Deputy Prime Minister, Second Deputy Prime Minister, and Member of Parliament for Adjumani West. His leadership and contributions played a significant role in shaping Uganda’s political and security landscape.In a heartfelt condolence message, Hon. Wepukhulu described the late Gen. Moses Ali as a distinguished patriot, freedom fighter, and dedicated servant of the people whose contributions to Uganda will be remembered for generations.The legislator said he received the news of Gen. Moses Ali’s death with profound sadness, noting that Uganda has lost one of its most experienced and influential leaders. He praised the fallen statesman for his unwavering commitment to national unity, peace, and development throughout his long career in public service.
Hon. Wepukhulu extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the people of West Nile, the National Resistance Movement (NRM), friends of the deceased, and all Ugandans grieving the loss of the veteran leader. He said Gen. Moses Ali’s life was defined by sacrifice, resilience, and a deep sense of duty to his country.He further noted that the late leader’s wisdom and dedication to serving Uganda should serve as an inspiration to current and future generations of leaders.
