The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is calling for applications to partner in an exciting and impactful study aimed at assessing the effectiveness of public communication campaigns. Established under the Uganda Communications Act of 2013, UCC’s role is to regulate and promote communication services in Uganda, ensuring they are accessible, affordable, and efficient. This study is an opportunity for qualified academics, researchers, and institutions to contribute to an essential research project that will influence communication strategies in Uganda for years to come.

The study will delve into how well UCC’s public communication campaigns have reached their target audiences over the last five years. Specifically, it aims to examine the impact of these campaigns in areas like public awareness, message recall, and their influence on behaviors. The findings will not only evaluate the effectiveness of these campaigns but also explore how well they have reached different regions, population groups, and stakeholder groups across the country.

Additionally, the research will assess the role of various communication channels, including radio, television, social media, and community outreach. The study will focus on the language accessibility, formats, and styles used, and the involvement of industry stakeholders in amplifying the campaign’s impact.Through this study, UCC hopes to gather valuable evidence that will guide policy and regulatory decisions, ensuring that future communication efforts are inclusive, impactful, and better aligned with the needs of Ugandans.

The results will support the development of targeted strategies designed to promote consumer protection, safe communication service usage, and greater compliance within the sector.UCC is inviting applications from experienced and competent academics, research teams, schools, faculties, and research institutions to collaborate on this significant project.
