The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has joined the Capital Markets Authority Uganda (CMA) in an initiative that combines corporate celebration with a humanitarian mission, directing attention to maternal healthcare needs in some of the country’s underserved communities.

URSB participated in the 30 Corporate Run on Sunday, October 11, 2026, as CMA Uganda marked 30 years of contributing to the growth and development of Uganda’s capital markets. The event offered an opportunity to reflect on CMA’s three decades of work in the financial sector while bringing together institutions and corporate participants around a shared commitment to social responsibility.

For URSB, taking part in the run went beyond celebrating another institution’s anniversary. It also demonstrated the value of organisations working together to support initiatives that address challenges affecting communities across Uganda.A major focus of the event was fundraising for health centres in Karamoja, Buvuma Island and Kyampisi, with the proceeds intended to support efforts to improve maternal healthcare and promote safer motherhood.

These communities stand to benefit from initiatives that strengthen access to healthcare services for pregnant women and mothers. Improving maternal healthcare is particularly important in ensuring that women receive appropriate attention during pregnancy, childbirth and the period after delivery.

In a message published on its official X account on October 11, URSB congratulated CMA Uganda on completing 30 years of impact, recognising its contribution to the development of Uganda’s capital markets. The anniversary run therefore carried a message that extended beyond the financial sector: celebrating institutional progress can also create opportunities to address pressing social needs. By supporting the fundraising initiative, participating organisations helped shine a spotlight on maternal health and the importance of ensuring that women in underserved areas have access to safer motherhood services.
