Businessman and events promoter Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi has announced a fresh step aimed at resolving the long-running uncertainty surrounding the biological children of late Ugandan music legend Paul Kafeero.
He revealed that DNA samples linked to the disputed family matter will be sent outside Uganda for advanced laboratory analysis in an effort to obtain more definitive and undisputed results.
According to Balaam, the move is intended to bring closure to a sensitive issue that has continued to generate public debate and emotional discussions among those connected to the late musician’s legacy.
He noted that several individuals, including well-known public figures such as Mama Phina and General Sejusa, have shown interest in the matter and contributed to the ongoing conversation around establishing clarity.
Balaam also confirmed that the process will be undertaken with support from senior military official Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is expected to assist in facilitating the secure transfer of the DNA samples.
He stated that the samples are likely to be analyzed in either South Africa or the United Kingdom, where highly equipped laboratories are believed to offer more advanced and conclusive testing procedures.
The dispute over Kafeero’s rightful children has persisted for years, resurfacing from time to time and drawing strong reactions from both family members and members of the public who admire his musical legacy.
Balaam expressed confidence that the international testing process will finally help settle the matter once and for all, paving the way for a clearer understanding of the late musician’s family lineage and preserving the dignity of Paul Kafeero.
