Entebbe International Airport recorded a strong increase in international passenger traffic in July 2026, handling 156,342 arriving and departing passengers as travel activity picked up during the peak season. The airport recorded 86,586 international arrivals and 69,756 departures during the month, translating into an average of about 5,043 passengers passing through the airport every day.July’s performance marked a significant improvement from June, which recorded 131,246 international passengers.
The latest figures show that passenger traffic increased by 25,096 within one month, reflecting stronger movement through Uganda’s main international gateway. The growth comes during the June-to-August period, which is typically associated with increased passenger activity. The July figures therefore point to a notable strengthening of international travel as the peak season continues.Cargo operations also registered growth during the month, with the airport handling 4,799 metric tonnes in July, up from 4,140 metric tonnes recorded in June.Exports accounted for 3,123 metric tonnes of the July cargo volume, while imports stood at 1,676 metric tonnes, highlighting the continued role of Entebbe International Airport in supporting Uganda’s international trade.
Although July’s passenger traffic remained below the level recorded during the same month in 2025, the month-on-month improvement provides a positive indication of renewed activity. June 2026 had also recorded a year-on-year deficit of 70,514 passengers compared with June 2025.The latest figures therefore show a strong July rebound, with both passenger and cargo traffic rising compared with June, as Entebbe International Airport continues to serve as a key gateway for Uganda’s tourism, business, trade and international travel.
