Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of veteran public administrator Dusman Okee as the new spokesperson of the government programme, signaling a renewed focus on public engagement and strategic communication.
The appointment was announced by OWC Chief Coordinator Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, popularly known as Gen. Salim Saleh, who entrusted Okee with the responsibility of leading communication efforts for one of Uganda’s flagship wealth creation initiatives.
Okee steps into the position with a wealth of experience gained from years of service in government. He is expected to play a central role in ensuring that information about OWC projects, achievements and opportunities reaches citizens, stakeholders and development partners across the country.
Known for his administrative skills and ability to coordinate government programmes, Okee previously served as Resident District Commissioner of Pader District, where he earned praise for promoting cooperation between government institutions and local communities.
His appointment is also notable because of his strong public profile beyond government service. Okee previously led the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU), where he championed reforms and initiatives that contributed to the growth and modernization of motorsport in the country.
As spokesperson, he will be tasked with communicating the vision and priorities of the Office of the Chief Coordinator while strengthening relations with the media and improving public understanding of government wealth creation programmes.
Observers believe the move reflects OWC’s determination to enhance transparency, increase public awareness and strengthen confidence in the programme’s activities, especially as it continues to expand its reach to more communities nationwide.
With his extensive experience in leadership, governance and public relations, Okee is expected to become a powerful voice for Operation Wealth Creation as the programme pushes forward with its mission of transforming livelihoods, boosting productivity and supporting Uganda’s broader economic development agenda.
