Despite its importance, the school has long struggled with inadequate infrastructure, prompting urgent intervention from city authorities and development partners. The redevelopment project was officially inaugurated this afternoon through a partnership between Roofings Group of Companies and KCCA, with construction works set to be executed by China Communications Construction Company, an international engineering and construction firm known for large-scale infrastructure projects.Once completed, the school will be transformed into a modern learning facility featuring new classrooms designed to ease congestion and improve the learning experience for pupils.
The expansion is expected to significantly enhance academic performance by providing a more conducive environment. In addition to classrooms, the upgraded school will include a fully equipped sickbay to support pupils’ health needs, ensuring timely medical attention during school hours. This addition reflects a growing emphasis on student welfare within public education planning. The project will also introduce staff housing units aimed at improving teacher retention and convenience, alongside a modern library to support research, reading culture, and academic development among learners.
Further enhancements include a bakery facility intended to support practical skills training and school feeding initiatives, as well as a sports complex designed to promote physical education, talent development, and extracurricular engagement among pupils.Upon completion, the redevelopment is expected not only to modernize the school but also to significantly increase its capacity, potentially doubling the current pupil population and reinforcing its role as a key educational hub within the city.
